The Amerex C571x is a rechargeable 30 lb Class D fire extinguisher specifically designed for lithium and lithium alloy fires. It utilizes a specially formulated copper powder extinguishing agent originally developed by the U.S. Navy for difficult lithium metal fire hazards. The copper agent smothers the fire while acting as an excellent heat sink, dissipating heat and helping prevent re-ignition. The extinguisher features a unique soft-flow extension applicator that provides controlled agent application and allows the operator to maintain a safer distance from extreme heat and hazardous fumes. Not recommended for lithium-ion battery fires.
